Cairo – April 11, 2021- Al Ahly Tamkeen Microfinance started operations using a full digital banking system. This project is made by TALYS in collaboration with Fern Software.

As a player specializing in the implementation of high-value financial solutions, TALYS has been able to further confirm its leadership in microfinance technology solutions.

In this project, the architecture proposed by TALYS is as follows:

ABACUS as a core banking system of FERN Software.

Advanced Credit Management (ACM) by TALYS: A platform to digitize the customer journey through a variety of tools:

  • BPM Workflow to digitize credit management in collaborative mode for the entire Microfinance Institution staff.
  • Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) for better management and electronic archiving of customer documents.
  • Internet Banking and Mobile Banking (iOS and Android) for the digitalization of the customer journey in Cross Digital mode  where the customer is invited to make a number of transactions during the Loan application Process (completing forms, loading documents, adding guarantor …)
  • API integration with KYC, AML/CFT and iScore (Egyptian Credit bureau).

Dashboard on power BI: A real-time overview of operations for management.

The next step is already planned on Q3 and Q4 2021 roadmap (Collection module, Legal Follow-up, Risk Management,..).

Customer Description: 

Al Ahly Tamkeen is the new born MFI created by Al Ahly Capital . The investment arm of National Bank of Egypt, whose strategy is focused on looking to set up a new financial services holding company. Al Ahly Tamkeen, to house its micro-lending and e-payments operations that meets the expectations of the MENA financial inclusion market.

The National Bank of Egypt (NBE) is the largest contributor to social responsibility among banks in Egypt. It believes that it has a significant role to play in improving the quality of life of Egyptians. Such contributions were mainly directed to supporting healthcare, education, slums development,  combating poverty, as well as female providers and people with disabilities.

Also, NBE’s total donations in FY 2018/2019 exceeded EGP 1.5 bn., growing by 73%. As a result, NBE’s contributions to social responsibility totaled of EGP 6 bn. in 5 years.
